Distant Dragon - Poem

I feel this place in my heart, as if it soaks from the ground through the base of my feet, up through my bones and into my chest. It pools over my toes and turns my legs to heaping roots, claiming me as a landmark of its creation.

I see the clouds billowing over the horizon, spilling over into our world from some distant fantastical place. A dragon whispering its breath into the sky, ballooning upwards from its mountain top, to signal to me on mine. Tumbling white clouds, pulled to the earth then rushing spacewards, An awe-ful exhalation above the heat-shimmered sea.

And I see them in the distance, the dragon and its clouds, from my heavy earth hill and stone twisted legs, and feel this place, coiling in my chest, spread to my back and grow me wings. I exhale clouds into my sky, for my distant friend to see. Hello. I hope your view is as beautiful as mine.
